On Friday 2nd June starting at 1:00pm we are pleased to be able to host a lecture entitled 'The Cathach and the beginnings of arbitration in Ireland' to be delivered by Brendan Kilty SC, a long standing branch member.
The lecture will be delivered in the spectacular surroundings of the Library, itself an architectural masterwork of space, at the Royal Irish Academy at 19 Dawson Street in Dublin, D02 HH58.
At circa 1,500 years old the Cathach is ascribed to St. Columba. Although little is known about the Cathach, it is Ireland's oldest manuscript, predating the Book of Kells by some 250 years.
Brendan has kindly arranged with the RIA for the Cathach to be on special display for those who attend the lecture to view this important piece of Irish history with direct relevance to arbitration in Ireland, where tea and coffee will be served afterwards.
Entry to the lecture is free but pre-registration will be required.
